Sherry has served as a safety professional for many years and her impact is clearly evident in the work environments that she's been a part of. Thanks to the SPY Award Committee for identifying a worthy recipient for this award. Congratulations Sherry!

Terri Sherrill, 1st Vice President/PDC Chair, received a Delmar E. Tally Professional Development Grant from the American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation! Mrs. Sharon "Sherry" Dixon, formerly Sherry Bath, joined ASSE 25 years ago. Since that time, she has served the Low Country Chapter as Vice President – Programs from 1991 to 1993, President from 1993 to 1994, Regulatory Affairs/Foundation Chair in 1998 and Region VIII (as Region VI was formerly known) PDC Chairman during the mid-90’s. Twenty-five years ago, the Low Country Chapter held dinner meetings. Sherry recalls that typically there were 3-5 members present at the dinner meetings. Then someone had an idea to try lunch meetings and member attendance tripled at the first meeting!
We appreciate Sherry for her continued service to ASSE and her commitment to protecting people, property and the environment. She received her ASSE 25 Year Membership Service Award at the October 20, 2009 monthly chapter meeting. The award was presented to her by the current Chapter President, Jayne Carswell.
