NAOSH Week 2009 - May 3-9, 2009

North American Occupational Safety & Health (NAOSH) Week takes place May 3-9, 2009. Occupational Safety & Health Professional's Day is May 6, 2009.

‘Safety Means Always Coming Home’ is the theme for the 2009 NAOSH Week. Please join the thousands of ASSE members in celebrating NAOSH Week as we work to reach everyone on how important it is to be safe on the job.

This year’s 7th Annual ‘Safety-on-the-Job’ poster contest opened on September 19, 2008 and runs through February 14, 2009. The contest is open to ASSE members’ children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews or those who attend chapter-sponsored schools. The posters that best illustrate job safety will be selected as winners. Before the children begin drawing, we urge you to talk to them about your job and workplace safety and provide examples of what risks occupational safety, health and environmental professionals address every day on the job, and if possible, provide them with examples of workplace situations.

Look out for details on how the Low Country Chapter will be recognizing NAOSH Week and OSHP Day.

2008 Low Country Chapter Professional Development Conference

Our chapter’s annual professional development conference was a success! On Friday, April 11, 2008, a number of chapter members, guests and vendors came together on the campus of Trident Technical College for an exciting day of safety, health and environmental education. Some of the feedback comments included "Great job on presentations and information provided!!", "Great conference" and "Very informative!!" Heartfelt thanks to our Executive Committee and others who pitched in to make the conference beneficial to all those in attendance.

Thank you for your continued support!

President, ASSE Low Country Chapter
